Herman and Debbie Ball quietly change the world for the better through service to their community. Mrs. Ball, a Longmont native, and Mr. Ball, an Alabama transplant, are passionate about volunteering. Married 52 years, they put service first - not just at one organization, but at a slew of worthy causes throughout the community. Mrs. Ball volunteers at the Sister Carmen Center in Lafayette, at RSVP of Boulder County, as a Hospice volunteer, and supports her church, Stephen's Episcopal in Longmont.
Herman Ball is a retired U.S. Forest Service man. His skills have been well received throughout Boulder County in the 16+ years he has volunteered as an RSVP fix-it man. Ball estimates he has installed more than 350 grab bars for low-income seniors and adults with disabilities. He also helps at the Sister Carmen Center, Lafayette Meals on Wheels, and delivers groceries for RSVP of Boulder County's free grocery delivery program, Carry-Out Caravan.
In recognition of their service, Herman and Debby Ball were honored as the New Frontier Banks Volunteers of the Month in November.
